Have you even been somewhere so amazing that you forget to take pictures for the first 3 hours. Yup, TDS or Tokyo Disney Sea is that kind of place. It is the most incredible Disney Park I have ever been in, and coming from a Disney junkie, that's saying something. We traveled to the resort on the subway (at rush hour!!) and got there for park opening. Went on 20,000 leagues under the sea and then headed to Mermaid Lagoon, one of the themed "ports" in the park. Mermaid Lagoon has 2 rides outside, but the bulk of the attractions are underground in this HUUUGE area that makes it feel like you are actually under the sea. It's amazing. The kids and I took a spin in these whirling things:
Then rode 2 other rides for small people and then headed to Ariel's playground. This may have been one of the kids fav areas at TDS. It's a large area with different interactive grottos that you could explore for a long time. Here we are on a sunken ship:

Next we headed over to the Arabian Coast to rock it Jasmine and Aladdin style. Rode this amazing 2 story carousel and watched a 3-D show in the magic lamp theatre. As you can see it was kind of rainy which was good because we were doing mostly indoor attractions that day. So I didn't get a lot of long distance view type pictures. You'll see them later though...
Went back to Mermaid Lagoon for lunch and ate at Sebastian's Calypso Kitchen. The theming was great and the kids were just in heaven!
At Tokyo Disney Resort (TDR) all the shows are in Japanese of course but they give you these little kindle-type devices. These are synced with the show or live performance and the English translation of what's going on shows up on your screen. Pretty cool technology but it's hard to read aloud for the kids and watch the show at the same time...
This was the view into TDS from our room at the Miracosta Hotel. We had a view of the main harbor and were able to watch the incredible shows going on from our room while the kids napped. This would be like getting to watch Fantasmic or Illuminations from your hotel room. Uh-MAZING!!
The first day we watched "Fairies Primavera" some kind of tribute to spring. It was a nice combination of water show and dancers all around the harbor:
After naps we went over to another one of the resort hotels - The Ambassador, to eat at Chef Mickey's. We love this restaurant because it allows us to meet the big guy himself without standing in line and the food is great. They had Mickey Sushi rolls!
The characters were very animated and so fun! We met Pluto, Goofy, Mickey, Minnie and Donald.

The dessert table at Chef Mickey's is always a highlight. And there is a candy bar! Teddy picked out this ensemble. Click the picture and take a closer look. Really. He's got like 3 kinds of cake, jell-o, a cookie, a marsh mellow and a dish of jellybeans. He ate it all!

We got back to TDS and the aquasphere was all lit up. It was beautiful. Water flows all down this globe, but only where you find water on earth. It's really cool.
The volcano in the middle of TDS was all lit up and occasionally spouted fire! Amazing effect!

We found a great place in "Castle Explorations" to watch the night time show "BraviSEAmo". The show was spectacular. It's about a fire monster that falls in love with a water sprite. The theme of fire and water is repeated all throughout the park.

After the show, the kids and I headed back to the hotel to get some sleep and Dad took off to go ride some big-kid things in the park. We took a last photo of the ship in the lobby with Mickey at the helm. It was a great first day!
